letse. (ayan i have to greet you all with a bad language)
im just sooooooooo tired today.
its my first day at the hospital (no i wasnt admitted at the AFP hospital, instead i was banished to bleeep hospital at anonas qc)
and guess what, i was assigned to the warding section. FUCKING FREAKING WARDING SECTION. where you get to visit all the patients to be extracted by blood.
its good if ure a sharp shooter in looking for viens, but too bad, im not one, which makes my life plain miserable. (at least im kinda good at academics, sabay bawi lolz).
So there you go, i go up to the floor where the request came from, let the nurse be notified that am gonna go extracting blood from the patient, then go to the room, (most of the patients range from 60-85 y.o.) then go get blood from the, go back to the nurse, let them know the result, go back to the lab at the ground floor, encode the result, print, then finally pass it on the lab. ARRRGGHHHH!!! sooo freaking tiring, and i hate old patients (no hard feelings) coz their veins arent freakin visible.
good thing theres this one cute doctor though, lolz. (wag magselos manong)
and theres this two cases where i didnt extract blood, i just said to the staff that i cant see no vein and that the staff should get it (hehehe sorry na lang, i got pissed off e. akalain mo ba namang mag isa lang ako doing the info and warding section at the same time. buti na lang the staff assigned to me was o soooo nice, thanks ate karen, close na tau ha? wakekekeke :p)
ayun nga, there was an infant where i was supposed to extract blood via the "sahod" technique, the doctor is the one to puncture the baby's dorsal hand vein and then he'd left the needle on the baby, and il "sahod" the tube. Problem is the doctor wasnt able to get any blood, and he tells me to extract the blood myself (at the back of my head: NOOOO FREAKING WAY! KAW NGA DI MO MAKUHAAN AKO PA?)
then the baby's hand turns blue, and still the doctor tries to get blood, kawawa naman ung bata, ang cute pa naman (pati ung doctor cute, hehehe) after 10 mins where the infants hand looks like a huge purple battered thing, the doctor gave up, and finally got contented with pricking instead.
Second case, there was this one old guy, 83 y.o., where i was freaked out on extracting blood. pano ba naman, ang dami na niyang tusok, i was removing the previous cotton covering his extraction site, and blood is still going out of the wound. and angdami niyang tusok. how would i get blood from this man? grabaks, tapos naghihingalo na cya, as in theres a light source na nakatapat sa mata niya to know if his eyes respond/dilate with it, and may mga rosaryo na cya sa katawan, naghihingalo na nga ata. tapos parang heavy breathing pa cya, as in hyperventilate na pala. tapos his arms din are soooo soft and crinkled na, hirap mag hanap ng vein. nakakaawa naman, sabi ko ulit sa staff, maam di ko kayang kunan un. and then she got the blood herself (WAHAHAHA, bossy ba? lolz)
haay nako, i was supposed to have my day duty, tapos sabay sabi pag walang alternate tuloy hanggang night, overtym. e pano un day duty ako bukas, sabi nila e di 40 hours work daw! ay naknaput%@!# hehehe, buti na lang may alternate na dumating.... haaayyy salamat, makakuwi na rin...
dami pang nagnyari e, like this guy who turned pale etc etc and was about to faint, the gurl who had no visible trace of veins etc etc. kaso i have no time to write about it na. my duty starts again after 2 hrs.
PRAY FOR ME!!! =p
